Enrico’s Path to Advisory Services 

Enrico had been volunteering at various places, including the Brent Foodbank, where he saw the opportunity to utilize and develop his transferable skills. His previous work at the Disability Law Centre sparked his interest in the advice sector. The training provided by Citizens Advice allowed him to learn more about advisory roles. 

Previous Experience 

Enrico has a law degree completed in 2017, but he has always aspired to work in the charity sector. His wife’s work in the charity sector further inspired his interest in advisory roles. Enrico has worked in IT and hospitality sectors. His law degree and desire to work in the charity sector have motivated him to transition into advisory services. His volunteering experience includes working at the Brent Foodbank and the Disability Law Centre. 

Training Experience 

He prefers more interactive training, engaging directly with colleagues and customers. Shadowing advisors, handling reception duties, taking telephone calls, and engaging in outreach activities have provided him with valuable practical experience. 

Enrico feels he has achieved a lot in a short time, developing skills and gaining confidence He feels driven and motivated by the progress he has made. Enrico values feedback and 1:1 supervision, which he finds vital for his development.  

Commitment to the Sector 

Enrico is keen to stay in the sector, motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the community and find a supportive work environment. A sense of achievement and a supportive work environment are crucial. Maintaining a good work-life balance is important to him. The ability to continue volunteering is also a significant factor.
